For it's sixth production, Golden Rose Opera hosts a real party where audience is seated at tables with friends, family and beautiful young opera singers enjoying complimentary wine and refreshments. Then BOOM! They are transported to Paris in La Traviata, Act 2 at Flora Bervoix's swirling salon soiree' with dancing and gypsies. The party turns dangerous and the audience is among the horrified guests who witness the deadly gambling scene where a courtesan, Violetta, must silently suffer Alfredo's rage, as a sacrifice for a noble cause that is unbeknownst to him. In the second half of the party, the audience is swept up in dancing Vienna's most famous waltzes in Die Fledermaus, Act 2, at Prince Orlovsky's madcap, decadent champagne party. The audience is right inside the elaborately staged joke played upon an ambitious maid, a philandering husband and his equally unfaithful wife.
